wow! kish co has more votes than adonis sta. maria and gerwin gaco?!?! people of this generation doesn’t know how great the players from the late 90′s to the early 00s.come on, man! i’d take ronald cuan and mon jose over ty tang and bj manalo 10/10 times.

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

Of course some people will remember the more recent players especially the younger generation of fans. Suggest you spread the word to the much older alumni so that all players will have a good chance of being voted.

    Orfrecio played from 1995-1998

enrico V, fonacier, rabbah, chris tiu, tenorio, wesley G, r. buenafe, baclao, magnum, richalvarez

we really dont have that many big man hahaha

  • Japs

The reason why La Salle don’t have much big players is because La Salle plays fast uptempo game. Getting tall players would slow things around. That’s why guards like Cortes, Ritualo and Yeo fit the system.

  • green_overcomer

Ren Ren Ritualo, JV Casio, Rico M., TY Tang, Mac Cardona, Joseph Yeo, Mike Cortez, Adonis Sta. Maria

  • dan

    my top 10:

    1. ritualo

    8. wilson
    9. cholo
    10. arana

  • blazer

cali orfrecio last played 1998?!? time really flies.

now, if only kish co would play consistently like how he played the past 2 games, he’ll get my vote at the end of this year’s tournament.

  • chino

    No Don Allado??

  • http://none Gerry Quintos

How about Dino Aldeguer? He hit the buzzer beater 3-pointer in the finals in 1999 vs. UST which DLSU won in OT.

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

    Gerry

We are choosing the All Decade Team. Dino Aldeguer played in the 90s

Never missed a game since ’88. Here’s my dream 10 from 2k onwards:

    1. Renren Ritualo – our own version of Michael Jordan; the greatest alongside Lim Eng Beng
    2. Mon Jose – never had an off-game due to his defense; delivered clutch offense, too
    3. Willie Wilson – one of our toughest defenders; was always in the face of other teams’ top offensive threats
    4. Adonis Sta. Maria – all business every game; a silent operator who gave a lot of intangibles to the team
    5. Mac Mac Cardona – simply awesome on both ends of the floor; just imagine if you have 5 Cardonas in a game at the same time
    6. Joseph Yeo – energy personified; kamikaze drive, anyone?
    7. Mike Cortez – remember his rookie year? Pro-material from the very start
    8. TY Tang – a coach’s point guard; rapidly developed following Cool Cat’s departure
    9. JV Casio – embodied La Salle’s true spirit; a gentleman’s gentleman; what our younger players should be like
    10. Rico Maierhofer – great athleticism; in my mind, a better defender than scorer

  • bowandarrows

    how about don allado?

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

    bowandarrows.

We already provided the link of all players who played this decade

If Don Allado was part of it, why should we not include him?

  • mint green

    1. Ren Ren -Of course
    2. JV -My all-time favorite
    3. Mac Mac -Just ask Arwind
    4. Yeo -For his “fight”
    5. Rico -For everything
    6. Cholo -For the ’07 finals
    7. Gaco -2 yrs, 1 championship, he was all La Salle
    8. BJ -Just for transferring schools he gets my vote
    9. Arana -For the heady play and dance moves
    10. Sharma -For outplaying Villianueva in ’01
    Honorable mention: Don Allado

    *Nope:

Cortez -Choked when we needed him most. (Besides, Manalo was a guard too when they both won)
    Wilson -Same
Kish -Helped in ’07 but it was Cholo who did it
Cabatu -Choked big time vs Arwind in ’05
    Tang -Choked in ’02 finals

Sorry, but I take out big points for losing to Admu and to anyone in the Finals. That’s when you need good play the most.

Me, my favorite player all time is Adonis Sta. Maria! Voted for him of course.

    Silent, effective, very physical, big.

  • Nel

    That was Joey Sta. Maria.

  • Archer

Thanks NEL… Yeah it was Joey Sta. Maria. what happened to him and the other guys like the Lago brothers, Maui Roca, Jonas Mariano. We know what happend to Jun LImpot, J. Cardel and Noli Locsin. What Happened to the other guys? I heard Tony Boy is a practice player in one of the PBA Teams.

    1) Ren Ren
    2) Cool Cat
    3) Mac Cardona
    4) Joseph Yeo
    5) Rico
    5) JV Casio
    6) Adonis Sta Maria
    7) Willie Wilson
    8) TY Tang
    9) Jun Cabatu
    10) Carlo Sharma

Lot of people forget that Sharma outplayed Villanueva one year in the finals. That counts for something.

  • Im the 20th pick!!!

    Hey mint green,

Can i have whatever youre smoking? Will it make me dillusional too? No way is BJ Manalo in the same league as Cortez. Or even TY Tang for that matter. Manalo sat more than he played. I do agree with your Sharma vote. Hes underappreciated as a player. Tough as nails.

  • berdeng palaso

RITUALO – tops this list hands down… #4 RETIRED anyone??? :) done deal. end. fin.
CORTEZ – cool cat. simply knows when to take over. so smooth. electrifying. just him having the ball in his hand is already exciting and what he’ll do next during his year with LS.
CARDONA – UNORTHODOX player that the la salle community learned to embrace and love.
CASIO – just like ren ren.. from rookie season to final season… remember his sophomore jitter but still hit that 3pt bomb in the finals( though the trophy was forefeited)

  • wtf

    seryoso kayo? 33% want bader?

  • painkillaz

    1. JUN LIMPOT
    2. JV CASIO
    3. JOHN CARDEL
    4. DWIGHT LAGO
    5. RICO MAIERHOFFER
    6. JOSEPH YEO
    7. REN-REN RITUALO
    8. MAC CARDONA
    9. ARNEL GUSTE
    10. RAFA DINGLASAN

  • greenpox

don allado should be on that list

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

    greenpox

Don Allado played until 1999. So why should he be included?

  • LS

To those who keep on insisting that DON ALLADO be included, there’s a link here that shows all players who played in this decade. You wont find Allado there. Besides, the admins have already explained this 3 times in this page. Kulit.

  • Targrod

    My two cents.

You should have seen these play:
Mon Jose – Amazing skills at the back court. Good hustle. And did you know that he was a dean’s lister? And I never saw this guy frustrated inside the court (baka lang hindi ko nakita)
JunJun Cabatu – C’mon. Don’t you love his threes?
Adonis Sta. Maria – I just remember him lying on the floor with Villanueva’s foot. Parang sya ang taga-tanggap ng mga balya noon e.
Gaco – this guy has heart.

  • Ritualo all the way

come on, no contest here! For those who didn’t get to see him play don’t just vote any player who can shoot once in a while… Ren Ren’s the only choice

  • unbelievable

bader malabes—->>>more votes than ren-ren and casio?unbelievable….c’mon wala pa nga siyang napapatunyan sa team..tsk..tsk..

  • ECE ID 100

Bader is third??? What the hell? He’s not that efficient when it comes to games. He may have the license to shoot from Franz, but 3 pt shots just doesn’t always get in. Might as well put in Hyram Bagatsing in there.

  • LS

It’s pretty obvious that the Bader voters are just being sarcastic about it.

C’mon seryosohin naman ninyo itong poll

  • Green Lawyer

can anyone who voted for Simon Atkins and Bader Malabes please stake your opinion here? no offense but it’s an insult to the great great players that are down on the list because of those two players who have not lived up to their potentials, especially in this season, when we need them most. They should look up to some of these players who showed a lot of heart, players who were not as gifted but definitely played harder and more passion.

  • The Green Mind

Bader Malabes at no.3, beating out Rico, JV, Mike Cortez, Renren and TY Tang. This must be a joke.

  • The Green Mind

Do not insult the integrity and skills of the great La Salle players by adding Bader Malabes on the list. You should have screened the list to include players who dederve it. I am sure that you could have come up with 20 names out of the teams from 2000 t0 2009.

  • The Green Mind

If Bader Malabes ends up on the winning list…I will boycott this site forever.

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

    Sir

We assure you that there was no manipulation done here. These are all fan votes. Polls will end until the last playing date of the basketball season.

  • JL

Bader was probably included as he satisfied the criteria posted by the site admins.

It’s sad that there are some Sarcastic and Unintelligent voters who are ruinining this poll

  • http://6spirits.multiply.com SHST

Green Lawyer: who are you to say that those you voted for have more passion and have played harder? do you even know them all enough to justify that? you probably live by “what you see is what you get” when in fact you don’t know anything.

Green Mind: do not question the players that this admin has posted here. They are nominated because they fit the CRITERIA. still don’t get it? Neither one of them are or was an insult to us nor to the school they are representing. They are chosen for a reason so stop whining and just let the poll speak for itself.

JL: Do not base intelligence because of this poll. Keep in mind that it’s just a poll. Don’t be too obsessed.

  • Nel

@Tony, the list was put together objectively, using the criteria already listed. The objective of the survey is to get the sentiments of the community on who they feel belong to the all-decade team. There is no bias in the choice of players on the list – they all passed the critieria. To add or remove any player for other reasons would detract from the integrity of the exercise, and open up the whole thing to questions of subjectivity. The responses so far show that people who visit this site are willing to participate and are interested in the results.

This is a simple survey. Let’s take it as such.

  • jam

are we all sure bader and his friends are not hacking this site? he has more votes than jvee, are the voters out of their minds?

  • http://yahoo.com vjslammer#33

malabes and atkins in the top ten!!!???…just like the team right now, losing can really be contagiuos..just as the archers are losing(games), the voters are losing(mind) too..

  • sai

mon jose deserves to be on that all-decade team. dream player. perfect fit in coach franz’s nightmare press. imagine 5 cardonas? imagine 5 mon joses!

  • sai

by the way, i think you should check the list again as most of the players there (especially those on the current roster) are NOT qualified for consideration as they do not meet the third criteria: “played professionally.”

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

    Hi Sai

We said that these players have satisfied at least one of the 3 criterias provided

    Regards

  • http://yahoo.com greentale

i think the poll is becoming more of a “top ten best-looking archers of the decade”…about 98% looks and 2% skills…go Simon and Bader!!!..be proud..don’t you ever shoot that ball..just look at the crowd and flash your killer smile..and maybe somehow we’ll get a win…

  • anna

What is bader doing here! he’s not even qualified!

  • http://6spirits.multiply.com SHST

to anna and to all you Blind critics, you better read again before you open your mouths!
All nominees have met ONE OR MORE of the following criteria:
    • Played at least 2 years for the team this decade as of 2008
    • Games/Minutes played
    • Played professionally
Still dont get it or do i have to read it one by one to you?!

  • admu

i’m an admu fan, and thanks a lot to Bader he’s now our 6th man! haha!.. but seriously, more players deserve higher votes than Bader! come on guys!

  • http://yahoo.com zip it

to SHST – why are you so bitter about the comments, these guys are just expressing their opinion based on what they are seeing of these players’ performance on the basketball court, they’re just being real for disagreeing on the poll results. so better stop whining.

  • http://6spirits.multiply.com SHST

zip it- yeah and you guys base your stupid criticism with merely JUST THAT.
fyi, i am not whining im also expressing.. haha yeah sorry just had to laugh with your comment.
i’d like to meet you and lets see if you can shut me up.

  • syntax

BADER MALABAS got the 3rd spot???? can the people who voted for him recheck his stats last game and the rest of the games he played..according to Tony Atayde,Bader doesn’t even deserve to be part of the team..puro airball lng nmn mga tira..

  • green bomb

to the people who are hating simon atkins,
simon is a true point guard not the combo guards that are there to score. he also has limited playing time so don’t expect something from someone who plays sparringly.
if you ask me, the current players should not be included. LOL.

  • Anna

@SHST… oh i stand corrected, sorry. He’s qualified nga naman for the first two categories. I just overreacted after seeing that Bader ranked even higher than Mac Cardona, Ren Ren Ritualo, Mike Cortez and Ty Tang. For ME, he hasn’t proved anything yet, and i don’t think that he deserves the votes. THAT’S WHAT I THINK HA! let him prove something first and maybe… just maybe he won’t get even a single negative reaction from people at all.

  • Nel

The survey results have been interesting, many people have responded. So far, there are some surprising numbers. I’d suspect that we’re seeing some flying voters here, but not to worry.

So if you haven’t voted yet, why not do so. If you’ve already voted but want to pad someone’s numbers, good luck. There are probably some ways to ensure that the exercise will yield meaningful results, perhaps some data cleansing is in order. Abangan.

  • http://yahoo.com zip it

SHST – yeah i would love to meet you in person and see for myself. one question though, why are you so in love with these players that we criticize?????just curious.hehe

  • Pat

I am surprised that Bader ranks higher than TY, Jvee, Mike Cortez and even Renren as of now. Woah. Come one. Not to down Bader, but these guys I mentioned have proved a lot already. Bader has yet to prove something.

  • Nel

As I mentioned previously, initial results may be misleading because some people may have voted multiple times for certain players. Makes you wonder what their motives are for skewing the survey results. Anyway, the details are probably available, so these incidences can be identified and handled appropriately. I suspect that there might be some surprises in the data regarding who the flying voters are. There’s a line in Hamlet that goes “The lady doth protest too much, methinks”.

  • dags

bader and atkins? cmon… wilson, mon jose, bj manalo and alvin castro should be one of those on top of this list…

  • http://yahoo.com tru green play fair

Nel and co., forget it, too much cheaters on this poll, try to consider closing this one and make another which is tamper-proof, this poll is a great idea, unfortunately others took advantage and made it their personal playpen. Anyway, more power to you guys and keep up the good work.

  • bentumbling

this is bullshit! simon atkins at number 1. pweh!

  • Nel

It is true that certain people have attempted to artificially increase the votes for some players. We’ll see if there is a way to weed out the “flying votes” and get the real sentiments of the readers. If the data can be cleansed, hopefully the “flying voters” will not mind having wasted their time casting those hundreds of votes (yes, we think there were some!) for their favorite players.

  • ICJ

bader and atkins on top. It’s either many Lasallians are considering this a joke, or many non Lasallians have voted here, and made it a joke.

    here’s my first 5…
    1.ty tang
    2 jvee casio
    3.joseph yeo
    4. mac mac
    5. rico maierhofer

not much reliable big guys on the list.

all 5 played with passion, with pride, with animo.

Unlike most of the players this year.

  • G

BADER? wth?? Why would anyone vote for Bader?

  • ATS

Bader Malabes? Seriously now? C’mon now people. Don’t insult the past ARCHERS.

  • the hell?

seriously now. bader has more votes than rico?

  • wil

WOW ah. Why the hell did other players got in the top 10 without contributing much (di ko na sasabihin kung sino-sino)

Di ito pasikatan, pagalingan to. Sharma is good pero bakit wala sa top 10?! so is Sta. Maria! This is Bullsh*t.

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

Announcement: POLL ENDS SEP 10. KINDLY ADVISE THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET VOTED

  • choloandryanatherthansimonandbader

i can’t believe that Bader has more votes than Cholo and Rico. Cholo may not be as talented as Mac Mac and Mike but his heart and hustle to the court were the things that made him outshine others. Remember what he did against U.E in the 0’7 finals? Cholo and yn are a lot more deserving than Bader and Simon.

  • blade runner

huh, what happened here? Ano ito? Cguro maraming classmates si Malabes d2 or maybe a wake up call…

  • GREENARCHERS.PH

The votes are in! After a month, we now close the poll later and we shall be announcing the 10 players that will be part of the All-Decade Team soon. The results you see now in the poll page might be a bit surprising. However, to make the results more meaningful, we shall exclude all duplicate votes per player based on IP address. Have you guys ever heard of a serious poll where you can vote for someone more than once? Just as with any serious exercise such as this, Flying Votes are not allowed!

Obviously some people made a mockery of this poll by voting successively for a player. They even went to the point of voting hundreds of times successively for their preferred candidate. It’s mystifying exactly what personal satisfaction they get out of doing this.

So for those who spent countless internet hours trying to ridicule the results, we’re terribly sorry as your efforts have gone for naught.
