My question is, why is every basketball critic thumbing down our chances against ateneo this coming sunday? Didnt we beat them in the fil-oil tournament last april? Considering we didnt even have a bringas back then. fellow lasallians, it can be done !!!!!!

@greenest
I was fortunate indeed to be invited to the post-game player's dinner which was unplanned and a truly unexpected bonus. I returned to the Philippines after being away for about 25 years but it was special to still be remembered (and recognized) by many people, including some of the more active alumni when I arrived at the game. A couple of the alums extended the invite to me to join them in the player's dinner after the game and I would have been a fool not to accept so off I went... I certainly don't consider myself a "chosen" one but a fortunate one that evening...

The players arrived a little later after I did and not only were they pretty tall up close, but I realized truly how young these guys are! When Bringas came up I shook his hand and asked about if he got treatment for the bruise under his eye and he said it was looked at and he was just fine. Then I did something that I usually reserve for people I know a little better... I told him to his face that "Son, today you became a MAN out there on that court!" he sort of looked surprised to hear that but then he understood what I meant, nodded his head and smiled. This all-star high school kid has finally adjusted to the SPEED of the college game and once everything "slowed down" for him he got really comfortable and did what he got recruited to do - perform at a high level!

As the players sat down to eat, the game was being replayed on the TVs in the house so they all pretty much ate in silence watching a game they had just won. I did the same and the night ended without any further incident, I mean you could see the players and coaches were tired so when the game was over, they just pretty much left the home.

There was a reason why Barua missed all of his 3-point field goal attempts and it was that shot which saved all the Green Archers. I was just watching at home and kept on saying when I saw the 3 point gap that Barua will shoot a 3 and it won't miss. It was like a miracle shot when I saw it.

Bringas really deserves all the praises he has right now. He was like a monster. His 10 consecutive points really pierced the hearts of the UST fans. I really see a back to back championship AT LEAST in the future with these rookies who play way better than some veterans in the league.

Like what I had said before, Webb continues to shine. He was very excellent in the field and missed none of his shots. Truly deserves the most improved player award.

Hyram really was like jason kidd, keeping his cool dishing out the ball to the players who needs them. His 3 point shot was also noteworthy.

Kish Co really muscled out his way to the paint. He just showed pure hustle and that intimidated his defenders. He was as valuable as Bringas during the 4th and the OTs.

Bader was also awesome and I hope that he's just ok with that arm. He had no turnovers and that's very spectacular for a guard like him.

Villanueva really needs to practice some free throw shots. It could become one of his weak points. Instead of allowing him to shoot, players will just foul him instead because he can't convert.

Atkins is a very nice defender but he should also be cautious about the injuries that might happen to him. There are "safer" ways of defending. :P

one of the best games that I've ever watched but it was a pain to watch those muffed free throws. credit goes to the entire team especially to arvie bringas, kish co and peejay barua.

it's my first time to watch bringas in action. after watching the game, all i can say is: bringas IS the future.

great game! animo la salle!

Hats off to Gang Green for keeping the faith and the team's spirits soaring! It was great to see the energy displayed by the boys at crunch time. This is their breakout game. All the needed talent is in this Green Archer team. Now to sustain the energy and confidence. We look forward to seeing Arvie dominating the paint every game and Peejay hitting the treys.
