Pregame Bullets: DLSU vs NU 9/10

  • Oh boy, it can’t get any more pulsating than this. Just when we all thought that the Archers’ season was practically over with last Saturday, the team got a new lease of life following UST’s loss to Adamson on Sunday. And the Tigers didn’t just lose; they lost terribly to a team that has nothing anymore reason to play for except pride and maybe make things complicated going into the homestretch.
  • The Green Archers overwhelmingly disposed of the Bulldogs in the first round and it would take a gargantuan meltdown for the team to lose this one. Even though we lost to FEU, I think the team still has the momentum to probably inflict some damage if ever they still get a chance to play beyond the eliminations.
  • The Archers must guard against complacency against NU. The Bulldogs are sure to finish in the cellar, but they might just try to salvage some pride by going out with a victory at our expense. If the Archers don’t want this to be their last game, they have to tame the Bulldogs all over again, and pray that the 2nd game ends in our favor as well.
  • The Archers are only just now beginning to realize just how good they are. They narrowly lost both games to UE and FEU, and noticeable in those games was the growing confidence of our young players. Against FEU, only the good individual play of big man Cervantes and rookie RR Garcia saved the Tams from a possible upset at the hands of the young Archers.
  • This is going to be a “win and wait” situation for all of us this Thursday. If we win our final elimination game, expect the La Salle faithful to be glued to their seats or TV sets after as we need to hope that UE defeats UST to forge a playoff for the final spot in the semis.
  • This might be the last pregame bullets for the year… then again maybe not. Whatever happens on Thursday, let us all thank the Green Archers for a great season. An1mo!

    Hope springs eternal! ANIMO!

never be complacent against NU. Remember 2007?! when everybody thought ateneo will blow by NU in the last game of the eliminations?! NU won, and indirectly gave La Salle the twice to beat advantage. the archers must play w/ tenacity and purpose. never underestimate them. we all have our fingers crossed, and our voices ready to cheer for the archers and for one day, the red warriors!!!

    keep the faith!!!

let us all watch the game and fill up araneta to the rafters. Believe in me this will decide the game in our favor. Court wise and boardroom wise. I prefer court wise. If this is the last game so be it as long as i was there with them until the last buzzer. Tara cheer tayo.

  • greenhorn

how can we lose to NU? i don’t see that happening in Franz’s watch. but let’s hope that UE MIGHT not intentionally lose to UST to frustrate the DLSU community for what we did to them in the finals despite a 14-0 elims record in 2007. still, it’s in UE’s hands our F4 dream depends on. Hope that Lasallian UE coach Chongson doesn’t fail us…

    Quoting Vedasto Padilla:
“let us all watch the game and fill up araneta to the rafters. Believe in me this will decide the game in our favor”

Since we’ll be playing the first game, why don’t we stay and cheer for the 2nd game as well?! Greenies cheering for the reds!

Just believe in ourselves that miracles do happen. Remember my comment after our 2nd round defeat from Ateneo “SABI NI SANTINO MAGTIWALA LANG TAYO KAY BRO-GOD” If your watching telenovela at Channel 2 MAY BUKAS PA this is the famous punchline of this drama. ANINO LA SALLE AND TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

Let’s take care of business first, i.e., win over NU. Then late fate takes its course. We may still get a crack at the Final Four. Go La Salle! Remember the ANIMO!

  • Japs

I’ll watch the next games live and show my La Sallian Animo!

  • green_jabroni

sorry loss… see you next season..

The Final Four dream is over. For the first time in 15 (?) years. But it is okay, I am very sure we will surprise them next year.

  • tierra erde

bakit halos lahat ng second round games natin puro talo? UST lang ata natalo natin s second round e.
Next year n lang para sa men’s seniors basketball team. Anu balita sa juniors?

  • bleedgreen

Yes, a sorry loss indeed. We could have been eventually out anyway. Still we got ourselves entertained by this “walking on a thin ice” show.

  • liam

A BIG LOSE TO NU TSK TSK SEE U NXT YEAR ARCHERS

  • bluejumper

what a heartbreaker. it would’ve been better if we ended the season with a win even if UST wins the game later. nevertheless, i’m sure the team and the entire Lasallian community gave our all.

see you next year! let’s keep the Animo alive and cheer for our other UAAP sports teams including the animo squad.

remember guys, let us continue all our actions for the love of the Almighty.

  • r3x

Thanks to our players for the efforts this season. Being the host next season though, i expect a lot of neg remarks/controversy throws from other schools. That’s expected. But im sure even if we’re not the host next season we will be coming in tough with our rooks having the experience and some goodies from the junior archers.

So looking forward to next season. Sayang ang tagal pa……

  • bluejumper

    Thank you, Green Archers!

Support the Junior Archers!!!! :) Go La Salle!

  • thejinx

I can’t recall exactly pero parang nanalo lang tayo sa 2nd round nung hindi nag cover ng game si Boom Gonzales. Tama ba?

  • realist archer

that’s why this is basketball and not chess. This is a team game, and teams who want it more will win. This batch is not the most talented but clearly we’re more talented than N.U but their attitude, body language and all the intangible things points to an advantage of N.U

  • realist archer

that’s right, blame boom for the poor performance of the team. because clearly boom is at the court playing with the players and boom is clearly making the refs make awful calls against DLSU. wow…
