They thus eradicated the stigma of countless years of playoff setbacks. They are two wins away from achieving an even greater feat; ending a 24-year title drought.
Fighting out the blue corner, here are the defending champion Eagles from Katipunan. With a 13-1 elimination card, they barely struggled all season and immediately disposed of the Tigers in the final 4. They are two wins away from achieving back-to-back championships, something they last did in the late 1980s.
In terms of talent and experience, it’s pretty obvious that Ateneo has the advantage in this series. Nonetheless, there’s still no such thing as a sure thing especially in the UAAP. Both teams would probably agree with us on this one.
