The biggest thorn on our team is gone: BAHRAINI Bader Abdulla Malabes has returned to Manama Club after a three-year stint playing with the De La Salle Green Archers in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. Bader signed a two-year deal on Sunday to play with the reigning Bahrain Cup champions, and will once again be suiting up for the club he had been playing for since the age of eight. He opted to return to Manama despite also receiving attractive deals from their chief rivals, Al Ahli and Muharraq. Ahli are the reigning Bahrain league champions, while Muharraq were the titlists in 2008. Bader is joining an already potent Manama team that includes Mahmood Ghuloom, Hassan Nairooz and Ahmed Abdulaziz. Bader will be stepping in for an injured Mohammed Hussain, who is expected to be out by the start of the season next month and who could miss the entire year. "I'm really looking forward to playing here again; it's been great to be back in Bahrain," Bader told the GDN.
