I hope we could have the same defense if not more tough and more tight in the next few years. This batch is a promising batch that has the makings of a dynasty, if not contend for being the best archer team ever.

Aldeguer's shot was one of the reasons why I wanted to transfer from Lourdes to LSGH and finally go to DLSU. It was more basketball than academic.. haha

ANIMO LA SALLE!

It was an old-school coach (Bong Tan) who taught me that, for all the flash, in reality the Pumaren system- the true nightmare press- is done simply with a man-to-man alignment, ballhawking and denying, and a blind-side double.

He furthered that there was no secret to it; just the total buy-in of the team and maximum effort on defense was needed, with a modicum of swagger that comes from believing you can ruin anybody's day when you press that way.

Syempre, as a budding coach I too- like many others- felt there was something more there. Because It was so confusing and effective for several years that I felt it couldn't be that simple, or else everybody would know how to break it.

Coach Tan was adaman; "La Salle is just playing full-court man-to-man, every man in that bubble, with a blindside double the moment the offense is influenced."

This was about 8 years ago when he told me that; Dino just proved him right tonight hahaha =)
