Green Archers hope to rekindle their glorious past with new uniform

Many supporters were just oh so ecstatic to see the Green Archers parade their new unis that are reminiscent of those multi-titled La Salle teams back in the late 90s to early 2000s.  And boy did they sure played like the La Salle of old last Saturday, showing relentless hustle and energy at all times.

Seeing these duds again, we can’t help but remember the good ol’ days when the Archers were the most cohesive and feared defensive aggregation in college basketball. Will this rebooted version of the 4-peat uniform awaken the Animo in our team? We’ll see soon enough.

    im just not sure, during the late 90′s (cant remeber what season it was). the green archers changed the design of their uniforms midwasy to the season. they paraded a new look in the first round of the tourny, but placed below par. at the start of the second round they wore the same uniform they wore the year before. the result, archers win the championship that year.

    That was 1999

    nice to see the championship uniform back in harness! just one suggestion, can they make the “La Salle” letters even bigger?

    one of my favorite uniforms of La Salle, along with their 2008 unis… i have the replica of that ’08 jersey (na pinatahi ko na nanakaw yung sando weeks after kong isuot!!! :( ) sayang… di ko rin nagawan ng replica yung last year, malamang mahirap ung design, and you know what happened to their campaign hehehe… good thing that their uniforms this year is a classic!!!

    Yeah, I like these unis too. They’re La Salle’s traditional jerseys.
    The shorts aren’t quite the same and yes, the lettering of “La Salle” should be bigger. Note to designer.
    But they definitely are an improvement!

    Let’s keep these going.
    No more yearly “pa-new” designs.

    The team’s uniform design I believe is the collective decision of the team management and coaching staff. I wonder if the players who will wear them have ever been consulted or asked for their ideas or preference. To some, the revival of the ’99 championship uniform could bring good luck. Could be so, because the team won in its first outing, and in grand fashion. Let’s hope and pray they continue to win games and improve their performance as the tourney progresses.

    Personally, I like the design of the women’s basketball team uniform more (see the picture in the following article). Unfortunately the Lady Archers lost in their first game against Adamson , but I don’t think the uniform has anything to do with that.

    I just hope the “Celtics green” color will be retained instead of reverting back to the dark green shade of old. That color now belongs to the FEU Tamaraws. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Celtics fan).
