Junior Archers lose second straight

The Junior Archers dropped their second straight game as they fall prey to the UST Tiger Cub 59-47. It was a game we’d rather forget as the team shot only 31% from the field and scored only 3 points in the third period. Mikee Capacio led DLSZ with 18 points. Mainstays like Axel Torres, Gerone Monteiro and Renzo Subido were just not themselves today. It seems like they are still reeling from that heartbreaking overtime defeat against Adamson last Saturday. The Junior Archers drop to 1-2 and will face the NU Bullpups this weekend.

    The coach wasn’t himself either. He managed to find the perfect combination to overcome the situation and get some points in the board someway, somehow in the last two outings. Hope it wasn’t because the head coach was also in the bench with them. Somehow he didn’t trust his instinct but trying to think what somebody else would do in the situation. There’s a lot more basketball to play coach suggest you review the first two games to get an insight on where your strengths lies. The running game in the first game worked out fine. Now only if you can get them running as they did then. The timely ball distribution in the second game wherein the big guys gets the ball at the right spot at the right time did wonders. UST’s defense by the way was outstanding that’s why we could get anything going. As I mentioned earlier if only you were you then – you could have seen UST’s defense and found another plan to get those scores. We can do this. Good luck on Saturday’s game.

    Axel Torres and Gabby Reyes will be the heart and soul of this Zobel team. If they don’t perform well, there goes the chance of Zobel winning a basketball game. Good thing that Mikey Capacio is now starting to assert himself on offense to help Zobel’s cause.

    Zobel’s zone defense was busted early in this ballgame due to JP Sarcia’s hot shooting from the trifecta region and the Junior Archers never recovered from there. Axel Torres started committing one turnover after another and it was just a domino effect for Zobel from that point on. Everyone seemed to be out of focus and cannot execute inside.

    It seems it was over in over in the first quarter. Was hoping the coach was in control. The things that was mentioned happens a lot. Thank god there are four quarters and a coach to enlightened them that all is not lost because you started committing errors or they led by so many points. That could only be the case if you don’t know your players. The players can panic but the coach is not allowed to. He can turn the player/s around after all he is more experienced about the game and the junior player is still learning from him.
