Ren Ren and Mac Mac win their first PBA championship

Talk N’ Text, led by Mac Mac Cardona, defeated Alaska, 93-89 in Game 7 of a hotly-contested title series to win the PBA Philippine Cup last night at the Araneta Coliseum.

Cardona, who bagged the finals most valuable player award, top scored for the Texters with 23 points. Ren Ren Ritualo provided the timely hits from the perimeter throughout the championship series.

This is the third crown overall for Talk N’ Text and the first for these two former Green Archer stars.

    Congratulations to them! Whew…I watched most of this series at home only yet even if I was miles away from the big dome, i felt the tension that I bet is even more palpable in the venue.

    I laughed so hard when these two unintentionally said “p*ta” during the interviews! hahahaha!

    Manny Pangilinan and Chot Reyes relied on Renren and Macmac win against LA and Larry. I remember that Alaska used to be the favorite PBA team of Lasallians with Dickie Bachmann, Mike Cortez and Don Allado playing major roles, but then Alaska traded Mike and Don to other teams. Si Dickie Bachmann na lang ba ang Green Archer na nasa Alaska?

    Alaska’s got the La Sallian father-and-son tandem of Joaqui and Luigi Trillo as their team manager and asst coach respectively.

    Thanks Nemesis Enforcer, pero sana meron din former Green Archer na player sa Alaska because trading Mike and Don simultaneously to other teams and acquiring LA and Larry in the process now makes the Lasallian fans swirch support to other teams in the PBA. Ironically the Lasallians are now cheering for the yellow and blue franchise of Manny and coached by Chot and no longer Alaska. PBA is entirely a different story, but of course we want to see the former Green Archers shine and play for Alaska. By the way, I hope somebody got the pix of Dominic Uy interviewing Renren and Macmac in the dugout where the badword was uttered in a celebrating mood and not to curse anybody.
