La Salle crushes LPU to keep quarterfinal hopes alive

How did it happen? – It was a no-contest. The Green Archers simply toyed the Lyceum Pirates all game long today.  The team shot 53 percent from the field. Luigi Dela Paz led the Archers with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 steals. Norbert Torres and Spider Webb each chipped in 14 points while Simon Atkins netted 10.

Why did it happen? – The Archers did not take their opponents lightly. They were a bit sluggish to start the game but they quickly picked up the intensity on both ends the rest of the way.  The Archers were just too good for the Pirates to handle.

Stat Highlights – Papot Paredes, Yutien Andrada and rookie Fonzo Gotladera had 2 blocks apiece. Despite the blowout victory, the team had another poor showing from the charity stripe wherein they shot just 54 percent.

What’s next? – La Salle ends their elimination round campaign against Ateneo this Saturday in what promises to be another thrilling encounter. The team should come out with the same energy and enthusiasm if they want to stand a chance against the Blue Eagles. Most importantly, they need to sink those free throws.  A win here coupled by a UST loss against San Beda in the first game will give the Green Archers the last quarterfinal berth in Group A.

May we know what is the coaching staff or what the players are doing individually to improve on their foul throw shooting?

Hey go archers, is Louie Vigil out of the lineup already for this year?

Congratulations on the impressive win, Archers! Looks like Reyes is the 16th man.
