I’m probably one of the last to know and surely this will greatly affect the chances of La Salle this season. It’s sad after many years of Maierhofer, the guts, the glory he gave to the school. He could/should have waited another year for a more fitting exit. Good luck Rico!!! God Bless.

I was saddened when I heard that Rico would be joining the pros. Why?

1. A team with many rookies for 2009 needs a leader (in & out of the court) and Rico would have made a great team captain.

2. In order for the team to sustain its high caliber status they would need a go-to man. For this year other than Rico I cannot picture anyone else.

3. I honestly think Rico would give Al-Hussaini a run for his money on the MVP race if Rico plays in his last year and if Rico wins it would increase his stock value going to the pros. And,

4. I agree with Bobby Cabral. The La Sallian community could give him a grand exit as we wish him well going to the pros.

But we all have our reasons for doing the things we do and I respect Rico for his decision.

However, not all is gone. One of the greatest assets of the team remains——the coaching staff.

I really wished Rico stayed one more year and further “ripened” himself for the pros. But Rico has his reasons and that I have to respect. Thank you for making as proud of the Green Archers team and De La Salle Univ.

We thank Rico for four selfless years of service to De La Salle and wish him well for the future. He is definitely ready for the pros and we will eagerly anticipate his game in the big leagues. It is too bad we weren’t able to give him a proper send-off since we didn’t know it would have been his last game as a Green Archer during the Fil-Oil/Flying V Invitational which we won. Thanks, Rico. You are a Green Archer through and through.

Sayang naman… Idol ko pa naman yang si rico, walang inuurungan!!! Anyways, good luck rico on going pro, sigurado sisikat at gagaling ka pa sa pba kasama ni yeo, cardona, renren at iba pang lasalyano!!!
